First 100 Words

First 100 words: this set was originally published as SIGHTWORD SPELLING, and is now completely revised to cover high frequency words from phases 2-3 and phases 4-5 of Letters and Sounds. It features the illustrated first 100 words on one side of the  cards, with  words in  SPELLING BOX SHAPES on the reverse. The cards have a wipe clean surface that  can be written in with a dry-wipe pen. The first 100 word cards are colour-coded for parts of speech, so that grammar terms and concepts can be taught where appropriate, while younger children can be taught the general principal that "different words have different colours because they do different jobs in the sentence." 

Ten words from the list are repeated to facilitate playing a sentence building game, that helps children attain the goal of SPELLING THE FIRST HUNDRED WORDS IN SENTENCES.

TRICKY WORDS 2-sided magnetic strips

These Tricky Word magnetic strips enable children to build tricky words from magnetic letters with support from colour-coding, which shows the parts of the word that are regular and the parts that are tricky. Here, the colour-coded part represents phonic regularity while the letters in black represent the tricky part of the word. Each strip is double sided with an outline on one side and a template on the other. This pack covers all the tricky word examples from the Letters and Sounds programme, a number of which are among the first 100 words, as well as two blanks for your own use.
