The Stimulating and fun way to develop children's memory skills

Do you have children who can't remember information or instructions? Who can't learn for tests and examinations? Memory Booster will help them to acquire effective learning strategies and give them practice that will develop their verbal and visual memory skills. Memory Booster teaches flexible memory strategies and takes the child through enjoyable exercises that develop and extend learning skills.

Exciting adventure game

Memory Booster is presented in the form of an adventure game set in Pooter's castle. Pooter the master computer has lost his memory and needs help from the child to recover it. Built-in cartoon rewards and encouragements that use attractive and humorous graphics help to keep children highly motivated and to stay on task at all times.

Featuring the voice of Brian Blessed

Memory Booster has six levels, increasing in difficulty. Each level teaches a different memory strategy. As the task gets more difficult, the program encourages the child to vary their strategies and to find which ones work best for them.

Can be used at school and home

Memory Booster - The game room Memory Booster does not require teacher supervision to be effective. The program can be used to equal effect at home as well as at school. The program automatically adapts to each child's rate of learning. Children can be left to work with the program at their own pace, freeing up teacher time in the school and making it the ideal choice by parents for home use.

Progress charts

Memory Booster gradually stretches the child's skills through structured practice as well as equipping them with a range of effective memory strategies that they can apply to any learning task. Children can play on Memory Booster as much as they like and as often as they like.

A graphical report of the child's performance is available for every session and shows how the child is progressing over time. Children can also print out their own certificates of achievement.

Proven effectiveness in research trials

Memory Booster - Demonstration of a memory strategy Memory Booster is especially useful for children with dyslexia or who have identified memory difficulties, but it is also been found to be beneficial for all children to help them to improve their memory skills. Research studies have shown that Memory Booster is just as effective as many hours of teacher instruction, and improves memory skills independently of gender, intelligence or ability.

Memory Booster Standard Edition

Allows up to 28 registered players and so is suitable for class use. This edition of the program provides extensiveteacher control over features such as task difficulty and rewards, so that in addition to automatic adaptivity, the adventure game can be individually tailored to the needs of pupils with particular special needs. This edition is accompanied by a teacher's manual that explains how to get the best out of the software and discusses educational implications.

For a detailed comparison between the Home Edition and the Standard Edition of Memory Booster see the comparison table below

Memory Booster Home Edition

Study Skills: A Multisensory Guide
By Jenni Beard

The study skills handbook that educational  psychologists recommend
for dyslexic students.
"My students love your study skills book. I've passed the address on"
(Orla Gallaher, tutor).

If you are, or you know someone who is, struggling with essays, revision and exams, then this little book was written just for you!  The Multisensory Guide is clear, user friendly, and gives just the sort of practical help on study skills that is needed for  dyslexic students  (and any other student!) facing the pressures of exam revision, as well as all the other requirements of  educational success from 15-16 yrs on through college and university. "Study Skills, a Multisensory Guide" covers study skills approaches for all learning styles, including essential topics such as mind-mapping, proof-reading, relaxation techniques, timetabling your study programme etc. Do you know whether you are a visual or an auditory learner? Go through the learning style checklist at the back of the book, and discover some important information about what approach is best for you. There is even a centre spread revision timetable for you to photocopy- it's amazing how many dyslexic students try and scramble through without one!

Have a look at the sample pages- we've included a section on EXAMINATION PROCEDURES  which we think you will find very useful.

Revision and Learning Software resource

For all ages and all abilities

From revision at home on the laptop to class teaching with interactive whiteboard

Native English or EAL

Activise is an easy to use learning and revision software resource for learners of any age and ability studying for any subject.  The software consists of a framework of interactive games which can be populated with personalised content.  There are four different type of games; question and answer, sequencing, key points and quote/reference games.

Information the user wishes to learn can be entered as words or pictures to form topics. The same topic can then be selected to appear in a variety of different games, which make the software suitable for different learning preferences and teaching styles.

The complexity of the game play is determined by the content entered by the user.  The screens are age neutral making them appropriate for all age groups.  This is particularly important for pupils learning content generally identified as below their chronological age.

The software is ideal for whole class teaching, 1:1 SEN / G&T tuition or home based independent study or revision.

ActiVise Software also enables input of any language for non-English speakers or can be used by pupils for whom English is an Additional Language (EAL).
